Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2009-07-25

James Harden, G, 6-5, Arizona State (first round) -- Expected to challenge for a starting spot as a rookie. Physical with high basketball I.Q. Can score, get to the rim and defend.

B.J. Mullens, C, 7-1, Ohio State (first round) -- A definite project who started only two games during his freshman and only season in college. Good hands and athletic.

Robert Vaden, G, 6-5, Alabama-Birmingham (second round) -- Averaged 17.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists as a senior. Fastest player in UAB history to reach the 1,000-point scoring plateau.

--G James Harden has signed his rookie contract, which could be worth as much as much as $4 million for his first year. The third overall pick was named AP First-Team All American and Pac-10 Player of the Year after averaging 20.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists during his sophomore season at Arizona State.

The early-entry candidate led the conference in scoring and steals (1.69) on his way to becoming the third sophomore in league history to earn Pac-10 Player of the Year honors, joining Jason Kidd and Mike Bibby.

--C Byron Mullens has signed his rookie deal. Acquired in a draft-night trade, the 2009 Big Ten sixth man of the year averaged 8.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game in his lone season at Ohio State.

In 33 contests, Mullens set an Ohio State freshman record in field goal percentage (.638). The Columbus native also led the conference in shooting (.703) as he converted 78-of-111 field goal attempts in Big Ten play.

--F Serge Ibaka is headed to the NBA after spending last season overseas. Selected by Oklahoma City in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft (24th overall), he spent 2008-09 with Ricoh Manresa of the Spanish ACB League. Ibaka averaged 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 block in 15.5 minutes per contest.

--G Thabo Sefolosha (dislocated finger) didn't play the last several games of the season as a precautionary measure. He didn't need surgery.

--G Desmond Mason (knee surgery) is expected to make a full recovery. He'll be ready for training camp if he remains with the team.
