PLAYER NEWS:
--G Shaun Livingston has been a point guard throughout his career, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll strictly play behind Russell Westbrook. Because of Livingston's length (6-7), he can play in the backcourt with Westbrook at times.
"It allows coaches to experiment," he said. "I'm not necessarily a better scoring guard than I am a playmaker, but I feel I have the ability to create mismatches by having two point guards on the floor."
--G Russell Westbrook had one of the early Summer League highlights in Orlando. With Boston third-year guard Gabe Pruitt in his path to the basket, Westbrook lost Pruitt and brought the gym to its feet with a devastating reverse slam.
"It was a hesitation dribble," Westbrook said. "I thought about going to the crossover, but he sprung up in front of me and I had little time to think, so I just came up with a (hesitation), saw he'd gone the other way and went right to the rim."
--G James Harden didn't need long to show off the work ethic that endeared him to the Thunder's front office. In an early Summer League game, Harden was double-teamed and lost the ball. Instead of giving up on the play, he dove to the floor and forced a jump ball.
"That's just about competing, playing hard and trying to win," Harden said. "I lost the ball, but got it back for us. I just want to win. I'm not setting any personal goals. Just winning."
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Thabo Sefolosha (dislocated finger) didn't play the last several games of the season as a precautionary measure. He didn't need surgery.
--G Desmond Mason (knee surgery) is expected to make a full recovery. He'll be ready for training camp if he remains with the team.
