Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2009-03-21

Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2009-03-21
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Russell Westbrook, Shooting guard Thabo Sefolosha, Small forward Kevin Durant, Power forward Jeff Green, Center Nenad Krstic. Bench -- Guard Chucky Atkins, Forward Nick Collison, Forward Malik Rose, Guard Kyle Weaver.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Chucky Atkins is getting more comfortable as the primary backup to rookie point guard Russell Westbrook. Atkins, struggling some with his shot, has had the job for last four games.

"He's done a good job of really settling us down and getting us some good shots," Scott Brooks said. "His shot's going to fall. He hasn't made the shots he's going to make on a consistent basis once he gets into a rhythm offensively, but he's a tremendous shooter, he takes big shots and he makes them."

--F Kevin Durant averaged 25 points in his first three games since returning from a sprained ankle. His shooting stroke hasn't exactly come back with him. Durant has shot 43.1 percent in those three games, compared to 48.5 percent before the injury.

"Kevin is not going to make excuses, but the rhythm is not where it needs to be," Scott Brooks said. "Kevin is a rhythm shooter. That's going to come back. He still has to keep working and do other things to help us win."

--F Nick Collison recorded his second straight double-double off the bench with 11 points and 10 rebounds Friday against Utah.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Desmond Mason (knee surgery) is missing the rest of the season. He is expected to make a full recovery.
