Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2009-03-11

Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2009-03-11
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Russell Westbrook, Shooting guard Kyle Weaver, Small forward Thabo Sefolosha, Power forward Jeff Green, Center Nenad Krstic. Bench -- Guard Earl Watson, Guard Chucky Atkins, Center Robert Swift, Forward Nick Collison, Guard/Forward Malik Rose, Guard Damien Wilkins.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Malik Rose didn't mind getting traded to one of the league's worst teams. In fact, he thought it was a blessing when Thunder GM Sam Presti made the deal with Knicks GM Donnie Walsh at the trade deadline.

"I was just happy to get out of New York," Rose said. "I thank Sam for bringing me here. Nothing against Donnie and New York, but I didn't have a chance to play there.

"And I'm just happy to have a chance to play. I don't know how to put it in words. I'm just having fun and it's a great group of guys around here. I'm excited."

--G Kyle Weaver started again Tuesday night at Sacramento and continues to play a significant role. In his last six games, including the victory over the Kings, he's averaged 11.3 points, while the team has gone 5-1. He scored just 3.6 per game over the first three months.

"Kyle is improving just like our team is improving," coach Scott Brooks said. "The way he improved early on was to work with our coaches after practice. Practices were his games. With more minutes under his belt he's more comfortable. He's playing well."

--F Jeff Green returned to the lineup Tuesday night at Sacramento after missing four games with a sore lower back. He scored 22, tying Russell Westbrook for team-high honors. Green also grabbed six rebounds in 36 minutes.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Kevin Durant (sprained right ankle) has missed the last six games and is officially listed as day-to-day.

--G Desmond Mason (knee surgery) is missing the rest of the season. He is expected to make a full recovery.

--F D.J. White (jaw surgery) had a benign tumor removed Oct. 13. The second phase of the surgery involved mending the jaw with bone graft taken from his hip.
