--F Kevin Durant fumbled away a shot in the closing seconds that could have sealed Wednesday's win over Memphis in regulation. He made up for it in overtime by leading a 14-0 spurt.

Durant was given simple marching orders by coach Scott Brooks for overtime.

"To be ready for five more minutes of basketball," Durant said. "We work on these types of situations in practice every day, so we were prepared. Guys game out and fought hard. They scored the first basket and then we got it going from there."

--C Nick Collison is having some difficulty with the splint protecting his fractured left thumb. The protective device, which he needs to wear another couple of weeks, becomes an issue when grabbing rebounds.

"It's kind of frustrating," he said. "I'll get my hand on a rebound that I normally feel like I can get, but I can't squeeze them. That's just the way it is. If I want to play I got to play with it."

--F Joe Smith is on the verge of returning to the lineup. He said the cyst on his left knee has cleared up for the most part and he's awaiting clearance from the team's medical staff.

"It's pretty much pain-free now," he said. "I still got a little knot from the cyst. I don't know if they're trying to wait until that goes away totally or what, but I want to get out there as soon as I can."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F D.J. White (jaw surgery) had a benign tumor removed Oct. 13. The second phase of the surgery involved mending the jaw with bone graft taken from his hip. He's begun doing light workouts.

--F Joe Smith (sore knee) was inactive Wednesday against Memphis and is officially listed as day-to-day. He's missed eight straight games.
