PLAYER NOTES: --G Desmond Mason hopes the strong play through three quarters in Monday's home win over New Jersey carries over to Wednesday against Memphis. The Thunder has won three of its last four in OKC.
"We will come into practice and get some things done and get ready for Memphis," said Mason, who scored eight. "They are a young team that gets up and down the floor. They have some very talented basketball players.
"One thing we need to do is come out and look at the way we started this game. If we build ourselves a lead, we need to make sure we put them away. We will try to get another home win before we go back out on the road."
--F Kevin Durant set franchise record with 24 made free throws in Friday's loss at the Clippers. The mark includes the team's four-plus decades in Seattle.
"To break records feels good, but I would have much rather have the win and score 15 points," Durant said. "I think guys around here respect me for that. I'm all about my teammates. It feels good, but at the same time I wish we would have won."
--G Russell Westbrook had 13 points and eight assists in Monday's victory over the Nets. His production has improved in every significant category in January, a sign he hasn't hit the so-called rookie wall.
"Every rookie says that," said second-year F Jeff Green. "But eventually you're going to hit it. You won't know it, but you'll look back after the season and think, 'After 41 games, I was dead tired.'"
MEDICAL WATCH
--F D.J. White (jaw surgery) had a benign tumor removed Oct. 13. The second phase of the surgery involved mending the jaw with bone graft taken from his hip. He's begun doing light workouts.
--F Joe Smith (sore knee) was inactive Monday against New Jersey and is officially listed as day-to-day. He's missed seven straight games.
