Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2009-01-08

Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2009-01-08
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Russell Westbrook, Shooting guard Desmond Mason, Small forward Kevin Durant, Power forward Jeff Green, Center Robert Swift. Bench -- Guard Earl Watson, Center Nick Collison, Guard Kyle Weaver, Forward Joe Smith, Center Nenad Krstic, Center Chris Wilcox, Guard Damien Wilkins.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Nenad Krstic made his Thunder debut Wednesday night at Minnesota, scoring six and grabbing five rebounds in 14-and-a-half minutes. Krstic was available the previous night, but coach Scott Brooks was careful not to rush the 7-footer.

"He's still fitting in," Brooks said. "He's still blending in. He's doing a good job of fitting in and the guys are doing a good job of accepting the way he plays. He's a good piece for us. He knows how to play.

"I keep saying that. He's a smart player. He makes good decisions with the ball and he's not just a shooter. He can be a playmaker at his spot."

--F Kevin Durant recently filmed a promotional spot for The Cartoon Network. Durant will be one of five NBA players featured by the kids' channel. Durant's part is slated to run later this month and online.

"I'm a big kid myself, so it was a lot of fun," he said.

--C Nick Collison returned to the lineup Wednesday after missing several games with a broken left thumb. The veteran was one of the few bright spots in the 42-point loss at Minnesota. Collison led the team in scoring, and tallied a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F D.J. White (jaw surgery) had a benign tumor removed Oct. 13. The second phase of the surgery involved mending the jaw with bone grafts taken from his hip. Recovery time is four to six months. He's begun doing light workouts.
