Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2008-12-31

Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2008-12-31
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Russell Westbrook, Shooting guard Desmond Mason, Small forward Kevin Durant, Power forward Jeff Green, Center Robert Swift. Bench -- Guard Earl Watson, Center Nick Collison, Guard Kyle Weaver, Center Mo Sene, Center Johan Petro, Center Chris Wilcox, Guard Damien Wilkins.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Nenad Krstic appeared set to join the Thunder at midnight Monday. The Nets were leaning against matching the three-year offer sheet Krstic signed with the Thunder last week. New Jersey is focusing its attention on clearing cap space for 2010. Bringing Krstic back for $15 million wouldn't make sense.

--C Nick Collison returned to the lineup Monday after missing three games with a broken left thumb. He wore a thick plastic wrap on his thumb.

"The doctors have told me I can't really make it worse wearing this big thing," Collison said. "It's not that hard to catch if I'm ready and waiting for it. But it hurts if the ball hits it. It's not as sore as it was, but the bone is still broken. It's probably going to be like that for a month."

--G Desmond Mason has been traded three times in his career. The fact that he has an expiring contact makes him an obvious target to be moved again this season.

"I've been around guys who have been mentioned quite a bit," Mason said. "I think it weighs on your mind after a while. I'd always rather somebody let me know so I can be prepared for it rather than it being spur of the moment."

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F D.J. White (jaw surgery) had a benign tumor removed Oct. 13. The second phase of the surgery involved mending the jaw with a bone graft taken from his hip. Recovery time is 4-to-6 months. He's begun doing light workouts.
