ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Earl Watson, Shooting guard
Kevin Durant, Small forward Jeff Green, Power forward Nick Collison, Center Robert Swift. Bench -- Guard Russell Westbrook, Forward Joe
Smith, Center Johan Petro, Guard Damien Wilkins, Guard Kyle Weaver,
Center Mo Sene, Forward Chris Wilcox.
PLAYER NOTES:
--F Chris Wilcox participated fully in the team's practice
Tuesday. After missing five games with a hurt knee, P.J. Carlesimo was
looking forward to working Wilcox back into the mix.
"The good news was he got some five-on-five," Carlesimo said. "He
got a lot of live stuff. What he didn't get was up and down
conditioning. The most we went up and down was twice. So, you stretch
it out in a game, he goes up and down the floor three or four times
he'll probably be winded."
--F Joe Smith said the recent players-only meeting was a result of
the frustration building from game to game.
"We're all tired of going out there and getting our butts kicked
every night," Smith said. "Getting down 30 and 35 points, that's got
to hurt your pride a little bit. We're all grown men, we're all adults
and we understand that we got to find a way to get out of this slump.
And the only way to do it is to go out there and do it together."
--G Damien Wilkins hasn't been in the rotation this season. The
injury to F Desmond Mason may change that and give Wilkins a chance to
contribute.
"This gives other guys an opportunity," P.J. Carlesimo said.
"Damien has been great, very professional handling not getting an
opportunity to play."
MEDICAL WATCH:
--F D.J. White (jaw surgery) had a benign tumor removed on Oct.
13. The second phase of the surgery, expected to follow in about six
weeks, involves mending the jaw with bone graft taken from his hip.
Recovery time is four to six months.
--F Desmond Mason (sprained right elbow) will miss about 10 days.
He is averaging 8.4 points and 3.9 rebounds off the bench. He said the
elbow was injured in the third game of the season and flared up after
Friday's loss to New York Knicks.
