Oklahoma City Thunder Roster Report 2008-11-06

ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Earl Watson, Shooting guard Kevin Durant, Small forward Jeff Green, Power forward Nick Collison, Center Johan Petro. Bench -- Guard Russell Westbrook, Forward Chris Wilcox, Guard/Forward Desmond Mason, Forward Joe Smith, Center Robert Swift, Guard Damien Wilkins, Guard Kyle Weaver.

--C Steve Hill was signed the day after G John Lucas III was waived. Hill, a 7-footer, played in three preseason games for Portland and was among the team's final cuts. As a senior at Arkansas last season, Hill averaged 4.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks. He was the SEC defensive player of the year as a junior.

"I knew a few teams were interested," Hill said. "Obviously, when you're the final cut, you're disappointed. But I took a lot away from my first NBA experience. Now I'm elated. It will be a mental thing to learn the offense and defense as quickly as possible."

--G Russell Westbrook knows the Thunder's margin of error is small. The team has improved defensively, not allowing an opponent to score 100 in the first four games. But the team is only averaging about 84 points per game.

"We're going to have to be scrappy to win games," Westbrook said.

--F Chris Wilcox goes by the nickname Weezy, like George Jefferson's wife on the classic sitcom "The Jeffersons." The moniker has stuck since high school.

"Now that's all everyone knows me by," Wilcox said. "When I come down the court, even coaches on the other bench will yell, 'You've got Weezy.'"

--F D.J. White (jaw surgery) had a benign tumor removed on Oct. 13. The second phase of the surgery, expected to follow in about six weeks, involves mending the jaw with bone graft taken from his hip. Recovery time is 4-6 months.

--C Mo Sene (knee surgery) didn't play in the preseason and has been inactive through four games.
