--Looking to add depth to a thin frontcourt, the Thunder traded for veteran center Etan Thomas. Oklahoma City also received Minnesota's 2010 second-round pick and a conditional 2010 second-round pick in exchange for guards Chucky Atkins and Damien Wilkins. Thomas, originally selected 12th overall by Dallas in 2000, has averaged 6.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 373 games. Thomas averaged 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 26 games for Washington last season before tearing the MCL in his left knee.
The seven-year veteran played his entire career with the Wizards before being traded to Minnesota this offseason. The Tulsa native starred at Booker T. Washington High School from 1992-96, helping lead the school to two state titles.
--G Kevin Ollie was signed to back up starting point guard Russell Westbrook. According to reports, Ollie likely received a one-year contract for the veteran's minimum. Ollie, 36, has appeared in 637 games over 12 seasons, averaging 3.8 points, 2.3 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per contest with Dallas, Orlando, Sacramento, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Chicago, Indiana, Milwaukee, Seattle, Cleveland and Minnesota. He averaged 4.0 points 2.3 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 17.0 minutes in 50 games (21 starts) with the Timberwolves last season.
