Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2009-04-05
--G Shaun Livingston came away from his first practice with the Thunder impressed by the talent level of his new teammates. The point guard is restarting his career after recently signing a multiyear contract with Oklahoma City.

"This is definitely a young group of guys and I really like them," Livingston said. "They're energetic. Guys are talented, some of the most talented guys in the league along with Portland's group as far as young, talented athletes. So I'm excited to work with them and just be a part of it."

--Thunder coach Scott Brooks surprisingly didn't want to the call the 96-95 victory at San Antonio as the biggest win of the season.

"It's definitely up there," he said. "It was a great effort. A lot of the guys chipped in to make that happen. Our defense was pretty consistent throughout the game."

While it may not be the best, Brooks added: "That game was a game that we can really look back on and say, 'That's how you play. That's how you compete.'"

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We've had a few games like that this year, but overall not too many. We just never really competed. We just let them do whatever they wanted to do. They were running their plays out there and taking their first options. They rebounded and killed us on the boards. It was just a really bad night." -- C Nick Collison, after being routed Friday by Portland.
