--Kevin Durant is officially listed as day-to-day after X-rays taken on his sprained right ankle came up negative Friday night in Dallas. The small forward didn't play Saturday at Memphis.
"I don't know how long he will be out," coach Scott Brooks said. Durant had scored at least 30 in nine of the 10 games before Friday. The Thunder are tied with Washington for the league's second-worst record, even after Saturday's win at Memphis.
"We obviously know Kevin is one of our better players, but that's part of it," said Brooks, refusing to use his injury as an excuse. "We can't worry about it. We have to fight through it and continue to get better."
--The Thunder once again held a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter on the road without Kevin Durant on the floor. Unlike the previous night in Dallas, Oklahoma City was able to hold on in Memphis.
The difference of competition between the Mavericks and Grizzlies is significant, but the win isn't any less appreciated by the Thunder.
"That is the best part -- that we finished it out," forward Jeff Green said. "We kept our composure and at the end we got the stops that we needed, and that is what counts. We still played our game. We were aggressive. We had guys that made plays for us. Me and Russell (Westbrook) can't do it by ourselves. It was a team effort, and we got it done."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "That is something we have to do when Kevin (Durant) is out, we have to step up our game and get others involved. We have to make it a team game. That is what happened most of the game. We might have had a down minute or two, but we stepped it up and knocked down free throws." -- G Russell Westbrook.
