Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2009-12-11

Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2009-12-11--F Jeff Green has acted as a barometer of the team's success this season. In the 10 wins going into Monday, Green averaged 17 points and 6.5 rebounds. He managed 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in the nine losses. The same sort of disparity holds true in his shooting percentages from the floor, 3-point arc and foul line.

"He's a very integral part of our team," Kevin Durant said. "He's one of our leaders, so we depend on him a lot. We've got to continue to encourage him and feed him the ball and make sure his confidence is always up."

Green had 21 points and 13 rebounds in Monday's win over Golden State.

--Though the Celtics didn't have much trouble with the Thunder, the Eastern Conference contenders predict big things for the Thunder in the future. Boston coach Doc Rivers expects Kevin Durant to eventually lead the franchise to the playoffs.

"You have to understand they're a young team," All-Star forward Paul Pierce added. "They have a lot of talent. At this point, no one expected them to be ... above .500. They really don't have any expectations, yet. They've shown a lot of improvement.

"And they're still learning about one another. They're talented young guys."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We could have won a lot more games, but we learn from our mistakes. At least it's a lot better than last year." -- Forward Kevin Durant on the team's 11-9 record compared to 2-18 at this point last season.
