--Veteran PG Mike Wilks was signed to add depth. Kevin Ollie, Shaun Livingston and Kyle Weaver are currently nursing injuries, so Wilks gives coach Scott Brooks another option behind starter Russell Westbrook. Wilks, a six-year NBA veteran, has career averages of 2.5 points, 1.2 assists, 1.0 rebound in 229 games. The Rice product has played for eight NBA teams and appeared in three preseason games with Atlanta before being cut. --Veteran F Ryan Bowen was waived to make room on the roster for Wilks. Bowen appeared in one game, scoring four points to go along with two rebounds and one steal in eight minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 22.
--Getting a national TV date Friday night wasn't taken lightly in Oklahoma City. ESPN picked up the Thunder-Bucks game at the Ford Center and dropped Suns-Wolves. "Everybody gets pumped up for national TV," Russell Westbrook said. "I thought we did a good job tonight."
OKC won going away. Impressive? Yes, but Kevin Durant was quick to put it in perspective.
"It was a great team win," he said, "but this means nothing tomorrow because we got to get up and practice and get better."
