--C Byron Mullens and G Kyle Weaver were assigned to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League. Oklahoma City owns and operates the Tulsa squad. Weaver played two games for the 66ers last season. He has appeared in two games for the Thunder this year, averaging 5.5 points. Mullens, the 24th pick, has not appeared in a game for OKC. Second-year forward D.J. White and rookie center Serge Ibaka could be sent down later this season. Thunder coach Scott Brooks and general manager Sam Presti set the playing schedule for the NBA players in Tulsa.
--Oklahoma City is improving on the court, and people are beginning to notice off it. ESPN has decided to televise the Thunder-Milwaukee game on Nov. 27 instead of the previously scheduled Phoenix-Minnesota matchup.
The Thunder's solid start and Kevin Durant likely factored into the decision. It doesn't hurt that the Bucks have rookie sensation Brandon Jennings.
This will be the Thunder's second appearance on the national stage this season. Oklahoma City played host to the L.A. Lakers on NBA TV earlier this season.
NBA TV will also broadcast Tuesday night's Thunder-Jazz matchup from Salt Lake City.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We feel good that we're showing some success. I like the mentality of our players. They're hungry. They understand that we still have to move forward and challenge each other to get better." -- Coach Scott Brooks on the Thunder starting 7-6 after opening last season 1-12.
