--Houston coach Rick Adelman had an interesting take on the offseason growth of Kevin Durant. The growth, in particular. "I like the way he matured from his rookie season to last year," Adelman said. "He really got better. You could really see a big difference. He has all the ability in the world. I've been very, very impressed. To me, he seems to be getting taller." Durant said he hasn't grown, but one has to wonder. Durant is listed at 6-foot-9. By comparison, teammate Etan Thomas is 6-10. Side-by-side, Durant appears taller.
--The recent struggles of starting center Nenad Krstic, plus the strong play of Etan Thomas off the bench led to speculation that a lineup change could be coming. Scott Brooks isn't ready to pull the trigger just yet.
"It's always fluid," Brooks said. "It's a gut feel. Right now I like Nenad in the starting lineup, but nothing is permanent. They both bring something to our team that we need."
Krstic bounced back with 14 points Sunday night against Orlando after scoring just nine in the previous three games. Thomas had a solid eight points and six boards off the bench.
"The bottom line is we need both of them to play well," Brooks said.
