Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2009-01-25
--The Thunder went into Friday leading the league in turnovers at 16.46 per game. Coach Scott Brooks has tried making taking care of the ball a focal point but hasn't had much luck.

Having a rookie point guard in Russell Westbrook running the show is also part of the challenge. Brooks told the Thunder's website that it's maybe time to try something new.

"I try to make it simple: just pass it to the same color jersey," Brooks quipped. "Just keep it real simple, and that hasn't worked. I'm going to try other methods.

"But it's important to continue to have good spacing. I think a lot of our problems are spacing needs to improve. But some of our turnovers are just bad turnovers where we're not strong with the ball, and that's going to continue to get better as our players get better and develop."

--Almost immediately upon taking over, Scott Brooks opened up the team's offense. The Thunder's scoring is up since the coaching change, but the team's recent run of success is because of improvements at the other end.

At least that's the opinion of the starting forwards.

"Defensively we are helping each other more, we are rebounding and making teams shoot one shot and then out, which leads to easy baskets," Kevin Durant said. "If we continue to do that and continue to execute on the offensive end, we are going to be all right.

Jeff Green added: "We are competing now, playing great defense as a team, and we get stops when we need them. If we continue to take pride at that, I think we are going to win a lot more games the rest of the season."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We let two guys really just tear us apart." -- Coach Scott Brooks on 75 combined points from Eric Gordon and Al Thornton in the 107-104 loss to the Clippers on Friday.
