Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2009-01-22
--The Thunder entered into a multiyear sponsorship with local health care provider Integris Health this week. The deal includes naming rights of the team's new practice facility, scheduled to open in 2010.

The franchise expects to break ground on the facility in late spring or early summer. Team chairman Clay Bennett promised the $20 million practice center will be the league's finest.

"The most important asset in this organization is our players as individuals and as elite athletes," Bennett said. "Like high-performance machines, they require a lot of fine-tuning, a lot of conditioning, a lot of rehab, a lot of training and a lot of preventative training.

"We hope to establish a platform in Oklahoma City as a franchise that we are known for providing the cutting-edge best care, best rehab and best approach to medical services that there is in the league."

--Thunder coach Scott Brooks pushed back the start of practice Tuesday for about 30 minutes for good reason. The team gathered in the film room to watch the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

"It was an important day for all of us," Brooks said. "To watch a historical moment, it was pretty awesome to see it transpire in front of our face. The guys enjoyed it. It was pretty cool to see it."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Just seeing how many people attended that, it gave me chills. It gives you a new sense of this country being united." -- Guard Earl Watson on the inauguration of President Obama.
