Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2008-12-24
--The Thunder has made steady improvement under Scott Brooks, even if it doesn't really show up in the win-loss record. The team is shooting considerably better lately.

Oklahoma City was knocking down a league-worst 40.9 percent of its shots in its 1-15 start. That percentage jumped up to 47.2 percent in the 12 games leading up to Tuesday, which is good for ninth best in the NBA during that stretch.

The Thunder is also staying in games longer. The average margin of defeat has fallen from 13.0 points over the first 16 games to 4.4 in the last 12.

"We've been working hard to get better, to improve on the defensive end and as a team on the offensive end," forward Jeff Green said.

--F Kevin Durant has rediscovered the form that led to a Rookie of the Year campaign last season. Durant was averaging 27.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals in seven games leading into Tuesday's game, when he had 28 points and six rebounds.

A point of emphasis for Durant over the summer was improving his outside shooting. He's done just that, forcing foes to close out further out on the floor, which in turn opens up the drive.

Durant connected on 28.8 percent of his three-point tries as a rookie. That's up to 47.3 percent beyond the arc this season, good for fourth in the league.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "They're not just a good team, they're great. One day that's what we want to be. We want to be like that." -- Coach Scott Brooks, on Cleveland.
