Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2008-12-22
--The first meeting with Cleveland was one most of the Thunder would rather forget. Coach Scott Brooks made sure his team didn't.

The Cavaliers destroyed Oklahoma City 117-82 on Nov. 26. Cleveland led by 19 after the first quarter, 34 at halftime and by as many as 42 points. LeBron James needed to play only 17 minutes.

"We've mentioned that game quite a few times in the last three or four weeks," Brooks said. "We felt that we didn't come out and play the way we need to play. We weren't ready.

"It was an emotional loss the night before against Phoenix, but it was a game that we're all not too happy about. We've got guys who are professionals that believe in themselves and believe in this team, but we didn't bring the attitude that we need to win games."

--Cleveland coach Mike Brown sympathizes with the situation thrust on interim Thunder coach Scott Brooks, who's leading a team for the first time.

"It's difficult for (every coach) starting at the beginning," Brown said. "It's got to be tough on Scottie trying to catch onto something at midseason, especially when you've never done it before."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "That was a good way to stop him -- only play 17 minutes." -- Thunder coach Scott Brooks, on controlling LeBron James, who didn't need to play much in Cleveland's rout of Oklahoma City earlier this season. James scored 31 in the teams' Sunday rematch.
