Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2008-12-20
--The Thunder was back at practice Thursday after taking the previous day off. The day away from basketball might have been a positive.

"It helps us out mentally," Jeff Green said. "Even though we're going through some tough times now it always helps to clear your mind, take your mind off of basketball for a while. And I think that's what most of us did."

Thursday's workout was particularly hard.

"We got a lot accomplished," Scott Brooks said. "We worked on a few areas that we needed to improve. Defensively, pick-and-rolls, post-ups. It was good. Guys were into it. We're happy to see it.

"We're not giving up because we had a bad start. We know where we are. We know what we have to do. We have to continue to fight and get better."

--C Nick Collison returned to the starting lineup in place of Johan Petro. Chris Wilcox, the starting center before suffering a finger injury, will continue to come off the bench.

Collison began the season in the starting five, but struggled to find the consistency he had last season. He's picked up his production since moving into a reserve role.

"It's just a different look," coach Scott Brooks said of the change. "We're still trying to figure out our best lineup. We haven't had the particularly good start that we would have liked or a better start. So we're just trying to figure out if we can change it up, spark us and give us a chance to win."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I have a smile on my face. It feels great. We made big plays down the stretch." -- Coach Scott Brooks, on snapping a pair of long losing streaks by beating Toronto.
