Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2008-12-04
--The Thunder used its three off days between games focusing on the defensive end. Former coach P.J. Carlesimo wanted to establish a defensive identity, but the team regressed at that end before he was fired. Interim coach Scott Brooks is hoping to do the same. His points of emphasis are doing a better job of contesting shots, which will help lower an opponent's shooting percentage.

"It's important," Brooks said. "Every championship team or good team has a defensive presence."

--Scott Brooks needed five games to pick up his first NBA win as a head coach. It was a tough wait, but at least it's over. The Thunder rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat Memphis Saturday, ending a franchise record-tying 14-game losing streak. Brooks started his career 0-4 after taking over for P.J. Carlesimo.

"I am happy for our guys, I am happy for our fans, and I am happy for myself and the staff," Brooks said. "We have all hung in there together. It hasn't been the easiest ride."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Unbelievable. Great feeling. Everybody came into the locker room and we were all smiles. That's what we need. We've been down after some tough losses." -- F Kevin Durant, on ending the 14-game losing streak with a win at Memphis Saturday.
