Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2008-11-07

--Leads have been hard to come by for the Thunder. Through four games and 192 minutes played, Oklahoma City has had the lead for less than 25 minutes.

"I don't know about anybody else, but I like playing in front," Desmond Mason quipped. "When you get a team down you keep them down, feed off the crowd, feed off each other.

"We can't play that see-saw battle all season long where if you get someone down, you let them back in the game, because you'll lose a lot of those games."

The Thunder held the lead throughout the first quarter Wednesday at home against Boston. The Celtics took the lead early in the second and never looked back.

--Three home games and two sellouts, with the other coming close to capacity. All three crowds have been raucous.

Thunder assistant Paul Westhead knew that Oklahoma City fans were passionate from their time supporting the Hornets. But since Westhead was coaching in the WNBA when the Hornets were in town, he hadn't experienced an Oklahoma City crowd.

He has now.

"The crowds have been unbelievable," Westhead said. "It's almost like Game 5 of a playoff series. This town has shown a commitment to NBA basketball even beyond my initial expectations."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We've just got to make sure that we play for 48 minutes and tonight we didn't do that, but that's a really good team so you've got to give them credit." -- G Desmond Mason, on Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.
