Oklahoma City Thunder Notes, Quotes 2008-09-22
--C Robert Swift, a restricted free agent, was signed to a one-year, $3.6 million contract.

The 7-footer played in only eight games last season after missing the entire 2006-07 season because of a torn ACL. Swift, 22, suffered a torn meniscus in the same knee in February and missed the rest of the season.

The 12th overall pick in the 2004 draft, Swift is still young, and the team believes he can help inside if he's healthy.

--Chris Alexander, 28, reportedly was invited to Oklahoma City's training camp. A 7-foot-1, 260-pound center out of Iowa State, Alexander averaged 11.6 points and 11.2 rebounds last season for Sioux Falls in the NBA Development League.

--The team hired Brian Davis to do play-by-play on TV broadcasts and former player Grant Long to handle game analysis.

Davis served as radio voice of the Seattle Seahawks from 2000 to 2003 and worked as a sideline reporter for the Seattle SuperSonics last season.

Long was the color analyst with the Atlanta Hawks broadcast team for two years and served as an analyst with Turner Broadcasting and the Fox Network. The Eastern Michigan product played 14 seasons in the NBA after being drafted 33rd overall by the Miami Heat in 1988.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "There's no substitute for support and all the energy around the city. It will benefit everybody on the team but also the community in general. We're excited to take that energy, try to bring it to the floor every night and provide a product and a team this community will be proud of in the short term and the long term." -- General manager Sam Presti on his team's move to its new home.
