Kevin Durant scored 46 in Staples Center last season against the Clippers. He had a cool 30 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday night in a win on the same court. "I love playing in L.A.," Durant said with a smile. Durant also gave the Thunder the go-ahead lead with 39 seconds left. The baseline jumper was a welcome sight for Durant, who missed a potential game-tying three-pointer the previous night at Sacramento.
Durant made it a point of going to the basket and he shot 12-for-20 from the floor.
"I just tried to make some driving opportunities for myself and loosen up the defense," he said. "My teammates did a great job a great of trying to find me and get me easy buckets. I'm glad we got the win."
Defense also played a key role. Oklahoma City held the Clippers to just 10 points in the fourth period.
"We knew they were going to go to (Chris) Kaman and try to get easy buckets down low, so we just brought everybody to him trying to make him pass out of the double-team and try to get some deflections," Durant said. "We did a great job."
THUNDER 83, CLIPPERS 79: Kevin Durant stepped back and hit the go-ahead jumper from the left corner with 38 seconds remaining for two of his 30 points, giving Oklahoma City an 83-79 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
Jeff Green added 13 points, and Nenad Krstic had 10 to help the Thunder end a two-game road losing skid. Durant also had 10 rebounds.
Chris Kaman led the Clippers with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Baron Davis added 17 points and nine assists, and Al Thornton scored 15 points.
