Kevin Durant has an obvious role model in Cleveland superstar LeBron James.

The parallels between the young players are many. Both were high draft picks -- James first overall in 2003, Durant second overall in '07 -- who had the future of their respective franchises thrust on their shoulders.

Durant was a high school senior in the Washington, D.C., area when he first met James. The two have kept in touch since.

"We talk about going through this process of being an NBA player in your second year, and throughout his rookie year as well, and how he handled it," Durant said. "It's always good to get advice from a guy who had a great rookie year, a great second year and has done well for himself in this league."

James described their relationship as "pretty solid."

"I can say that any time Kevin needs anything from me, he can give me a call or any advice or anything," James sad. "I let him know that when he was coming out of college that I wanted to help him."

While Durant admits their similarities, he's quick to point out that James was in a league of his own in terms of expectations.

"He had way more hype than I did," Durant said. "He does a great job of always keeping himself available for me to ask questions."

CAVALIERS 102, THUNDER 91: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 50 points as Oklahoma City put forth a valiant effort before falling Sunday night to LeBron James and the Cavaliers.

James scored 31 to lead three Cleveland starters in double figures. The Thunder, coming off their first win in three weeks, were down just five at halftime and pulled within nine early in the fourth quarter.

Jeff Green had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Oklahoma City. Westbrook had 11 assists to go along with his 24 points. Durant, the third of the Thunder's talented young trio, led the home team with 26 points.
