Top five teams

1. Lakers: Throttled the Cavs in their big MLK showdown.

2. Celtics: Mean streak back with the winning streak.

3. Cavs: Keeping pace despite injuries.

4. Magic: Couldn't hold of the Celts ... or the Heat.

5. Spurs: Watch out for the surging Hornets.

Bottom five teams 5. Thunder: Playing like a .500 team now.

4. Kings: Healthy, and still losing.

3. Grizzlies: Lionel Hollins as coach? For a third time?

2. Wizards: So Monta Ellis makes it back before Gilbert Arenas .

1. Clippers: And Baron Davis , who says he'll miss today's Warriors reunion.

Post-Ups -- This won't make Warriors fans feel any better, but Jeff Green 's buzzer-beating shot that sank Golden State on Wednesday was cathartic for the Thunder. The team has lost three games on last-second shots this season, with Denver's Carmelo Anthony , Detroit's Allen Iverson and Minnesota's Mike Miller doing the honors.

-- Spurs coach Gregg Popovich , one of Don Nelson 's best buddies, delivered his own "We Suck" speech in evaluating his team's defense halfway through the season. The Spurs had just been routed by the Sixers, who shot 50 percent from the field. Hard to tell if Pop's team got the message. Though they've held three straight opponents under 87 points and to a combined 39.4 percent shooting, the three opponents were the Bulls, Bobcats and Pacers.

-- A quick recap of Inauguration Day, NBA-style: Ray Allen , Dwight Howard , Dikembe Mutumbo and Andre Miller were among the current players to attend President Barack Obama 's swearing-in in Washington on Tuesday. Chris Duhon had an invitation from his best friend, Obama's right-hand man Reggie Love , but practiced with the Knicks instead. As for Golden State? Corey Maggette and ex-Warrior Baron Davis both donated to Obama's campaign.

Game of the Week Though the Warriors return to national TV twice this week with games in Dallas on Wednesday and in New Orleans on Friday, our must-see game is sandwiched in between.

The Spurs visit Phoenix on Thursday, when a rejuvenated Shaquille O'Neal goes up against Tim Duncan , with both big men surrounded by plenty of offensive firepower. Catch the Western Conference matchup on TNT at 7:30 p.m.
