Alex Torres stood out Sunday night at the Thunder -Magic game. He was the guy wearing the Seattle SuperSonic jersey. But Torres wasn't making a political statement. He's just an old-school NBA fan. Torres and his friend, Mike Robinson, both of Daytona Beach, Fla., make mini-tours of NBA arenas and found their way to Oklahoma City for the first time.
"We like the Thunder ," Torres said.
The friends started in 2005, driving to eight cities in two weeks. Now they usually fly - like to a Portland-Golden State-Sacramento-Los Angeles (twice) excursion earlier this season.
They flew to San Antonio on Friday, went to the Texas U.-Central Florida football game Saturday, then the Dallas Mavericks game Saturday night.
They plan to drive back to San Antonio for a game tonight, then return home Tuesday.
Favorite arena? "Indiana," said Robinson, who visited Conseco Fieldhouse Oct. 28 for the Pacers' opener with Atlanta. "Got to meet (Atlanta's) Jamal Crawford. He gave us each one of his shoes."
