The Thunder was riding a four-game home winning streak heading into Wednesday's game vs. Chicago. Three of the wins were against playoff contenders - San Antonio, Dallas and Philadelphia.
"It's been fun for us, getting better and winning games because our fans have been supporting us every game," said the Thunder's Jeff Green. "It's important for us to work hard, keep getting better and beat those teams like Chicago and Utah." 20-WIN MARK
The Thunder was shooting for its 20th win Wednesday night. That's significant because that was the final win total last season while the franchise was in Seattle. After starting the season 3-29, some in the media speculated the team might have a worse record its first season in Oklahoma City. But the Thunder, 16-19 since New Year's Eve, should finish with a better record than the Sonics last season.
NATIONAL PUBLICITY
Despite having only 19 wins, Kevin Durant and the Thunder are drawing national attention. ESPN The Magazine writer Ric Bucher attended Monday's win over San Antonio and Wednesday's game vs. Chicago to work on a story. The Sporting News' Sean Deveney spent several days in Oklahoma City earlier this month.
