Phoenix ? Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant scored 30 of his record 46 points in the second half to lead the Sophomores to a 122-116 victory over the Rookies on Friday night in the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge.
It was the Sophomores' seventh straight win, which kicked off the NBA's 2009 All-Star Weekend. Durant bested the previous high of 36 points set by Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire in 2004.
The most significant aspect of the game came just before tipoff, however, when Portland center Greg Oden was ruled out because of a sore knee.
Oden, the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft, was injured during a 105-98 loss Thursday night. He is listed as day-to-day.
The Trail Blazers, who lead the Jazz by 2? games in the Northwest Division standings, don't play again until Wednesday's home game against Memphis.
